Snow White and The Seven Dwarves; or as I like to call it, favorite. movie. ever! Is the singing a bit weird? (Cue in 'I'm Wishing' hear please) Yes, most definitely. However it is still one of the most influencal animated films of all time. Sure, it didn't win a Grammy, but it got an Oscar... nomination. This was the first full length animated film in 1938 and it was used as a "template" of sorts for other Disney movies. This was also the first Disney film to completely hate on stepmoms, and thus beginning a forever expected trend of a Disney movie. Each Disney movie has a few things that are the same in each one : Either only one bio parent and a step parent, one bio parent only, an adult villain, no parents at all, a damsel in distress (or any person in distress for that matter),or a prince, etc. The list goes on for miles! Not only did Snow White have only an evil stepparent, she was also being hunted by a huntsmen and that evil stepmom, she was also picked up by a prince. Snow White influenced a lot of non Disney movies. In, The Wizard of Oz for example I noticed that in the Field of Poppies seen the scarecrow looked to have picked up Dorothy in a similar fashion to that of Snow White and the Prince( Whose name I've learned was Henry). The film follows a pretty basic Disney Princess film story line: There's an innocent girl, an evil stepmom, girl tries to either escape or make light of her situation, she gets into some trouble and a prince saves her and they live happily ever after. The only Disney Princess films I've noticed that a prince doesn't save the princess are: The Princess and The Frog, Aladdin, Beauty and The Beast, and Brave. Which means, by this evidence Snow White is an extremely influential Disney animated film.
